FEATURES
Designed primarily as a low propulsion hull form, this innovative, whisper-quiet carbon launch is powered by a Steyr Hybrid Drive. The compact powertrain couples a high performance 110hp diesel engine, a 5kw electric motor/generator, and a transmission. Electric mode is powered by a large bank of lithium batteries with a stealth maneuverability up to 6 knots. When that extra propulsion is needed, diesel mode smoothly drives the light hull up to 18 knots. In this mode the electric motor turns into a high output generator that charges the batteries. In addition the launch’s arched carbon canopy is covered with solar panels for steady charging when at rest. The hybrid control unit and electric motor are cooled by a saltwater-cooled heat exchanger system. These pumps are automatically employed during all modes of operation.
Soft colors combined with teak in either gloss finishes or texturally raw this day boat is built for comfort, including a head forward n a small cuddy.
CONSTRUCTION
Designed by Stephens Waring Yacht Design, ZOGO’s construction was guided by performance and clients who desired an aesthetically pleasing and low impact boating experience.
The hull is a composite construction worth a lightweight cedar core sheathed with 9 oz unidirectional carbon inside and out. All structural components including stringers, stern and bow are cold-molded sheathed in carbon and FRP. The canopy and its’ sculptural supports are structural foam and carbon.
Whether raw or gloss finished all teak was color matched. Joinery includes teak veneers vacuum bagged onto lightweight aluminum honeycomb panels. The seamlessly fit deck hardware was custom crafted of 316 stainless steel.
